Light on Life: Closing  Communal Session

Live Session: Sunday, December 13, 2026 |  08:00 UTC

Our reading of Light on Life begins with Chapter 1: The Inward Journey.

The Zoom link to this session is sent via our Newsletter, Whats’app & Facebook group

After three months of reading Light on Life together, we come together one final time to look back at the journey from the physical body through energy, mind, intelligence and bliss, and towards Iyengar’s reflections on freedom.

This closing gathering is a chance to return to the book as a whole: to the passages that stayed with us, the questions that remain open, and the ideas that may have changed through reading, discussion and practice.

There is no new reading for this session. Instead, return to your notes and marked passages and bring something you would like to share with the community.

Questions for our Communal Gathering

  1. Which chapter or idea in Light on Life changed your understanding of yoga most?
  2. Is there something you understood differently through practice than you did through reading alone?
  3. Was there something in the book that you disagreed with, questioned, or remain unconvinced by?
  4. Which passage or idea would you like to carry with you into your practice?
  5. Looking back at the journey through the five kośas, do you still understand it as a movement from outer to inner, or has the book complicated that picture?
  6. What question are you leaving Light on Life with?
  • Return to something you underlined or marked near the beginning of the book.

    Read it again now.

Does it mean the same thing after three months of reading together?

Notes from our Sessions

This section will be updated after our live session with key points, questions, and reflections from our discussion.

Want to go Geeper?

The Light on Life Study Pack is meant for dedicated students and teachers who want everything in one place.

This makes sense if you join late and want to catch up thoroughly, like to re-watch and take notes at your own pace, and want a compact resource you can revisit over months and years.

The Light on Life – Study Pack includes:

* All study session recordings (ongoing access)
* The Study Companion PDF — reading schedule, main themes, summaries, focus questions, reflection prompts, and Sanskrit terms for each gathering.
* Guiding and reflection questions, organised by session
* Sanskrit terms with transliteration and explanations

Buying the Study Pack is one way to support the time and research that go into Yoga Readers — and to receive a resource designed for long-term study.
